The Team
Cycling Philosophy
Team Shake N Bake's competitive philosophy can best be described by the following quotes from our official team movie "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby," the first of which is our official team motto:
“If you ain’t first, you’re last.” — Ricky Bobby
"Oh hell, Son, I was high that day. That doesn't make any sense at all, you can be second, third, fourth... hell you can even be fifth." — Reese Bobby
“Here’s the deal: I’m the best there is. Plain and simple. I wake up in the morning, and I piss excellence.” – Ricky Bobby
“No one lives forever, no one. But with advances in modern science and my high-level income, it’s not crazy to think I can live to be 245, maybe 300.” — Ricky Bobby
Meet the Team
Team Shake N Bake is dedicated to the cause of raising funds to battle for those with Multiple Sclerosis a A disease in which the immune system eats away at the protective covering of nerves. We do this by supporting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society who hosts an annual City to Shore ride in New Jersey.
Jeff Dickert
Jeff is the founding member of Team Shake N Bake having rode in the MS City to Shore ride since 2006 and raising over $29,000 towards the cause, His dedication and enthusiasm are what keep us riding and are best exemplified in this motto "Keep Moving." This motto was best demonstrated in 2015 when Jeff rode his own 175 miles (alone) despite the official MS City to Shore ride being canceled due to a hurricane. More on Jeff and how we came to found Team Shake N Bake can be found on The Legacy and The Lore pages. Enjoying his retirement Jeff finds a constant source of entertainment in pushing the rest of the team to remain active.
Tim Dickert
Tim the son is the the cool and collected members of the team. Grounded in reality he ensures we ride safely and remember to have fun. He has joined Jeff on many rides prior to the founding of Team Shake N Bake and now servers as the team's official Captain. It was Tim's fondness of irreverent humor and Will Ferrell that initially steered the team towards it's name.
Tim Gonzales
Tim the son in law enjoys riding mostly for the chance to get some peace and quite out on the road. He is known for overconfidence in his riding ability characterized by pushing as hard as possible for the first 1/3 of any ride followed by struggling to keep up to the even pace of the team. A Computer Scientist by trade he enjoys documenting the teams journey on their many adventures together.
An Introduction to What Drives Us
Getting to know Team Shake N Bake and it's founding doctrine wouldn't be complete without the timeless "story of a man who could only count to number one." That man is Ricky Bobby, enjoy!
